Supporting Recovery

Recovery is a vital component of supporting victim-survivors of domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and plays an important role in ending gendered violence.

The Supporting Recovery Discussion Paper synthesises insights from the literature on DFSV recovery and aims to inform the development of tailored recovery programs which address the diverse needs of those affected by violence. The Supporting Recovery Consultation Findings document reviews the Supporting Recovery pilot program - led by the Hunter New England and Central Coast Primary Health Network (HNECC PHN) - which focuses on providing trauma-informed recovery care for victim-survivors of DFSV; and the document aims to guide a primary care systems response to improving health outcomes for people who experience DFSV.

Both documents were commissioned by HNECC PHN, and authored by Dr Chay Brown (Her Story Consulting).
